Default New to auto tranny--need help adjusting the TV (kickdown) cable.

I'm newly converted from 6 speed and was attempting to adjust my TV cable. I'm not sure how to properly do it. I looked in my Chilton manual and it was very confusing to a novice user. The instruction sheet that was included might as well be in freakin' Swahili as it doesn't seem to say anything relevant. What I ended up doing was pulling my throttle blade to WOT and tightened the cable so that it was somewhat taunt. Is that it?

There Should be two tabs behind where the TV cable snaps into the Bracket on the intake, squeeze the two tabs then pull the throttle blade to WOT, then release the tabs, then release the Throttle blade. that is a baseline that is about as good as you can get it with out using a pressure guage to set it exactly, be sure you set it correctly as this cable controls the line pressure in your trans. and a misadjusted TV cable is Certain death for the trans.
