If you are talking about 1/4 miles performance, a transgo isn't going to provide a measurable result over a properly tuned & operating stock tranny. I've seen a couple people try several year agos to show a gain and not succeed.

It's like saying your engine is bone stock, then you put headers on it, thats the first mod to the engine, a shift kit would be the first mod to your trans.

I have a shift kit in my otherwise stock trans.
he's not asking about the principle, he's asking about performance gains.

As far as that goes, a shift kit is not exactly a performance product. It's more for cars with large stalls and similarly sloppy shifts resulting from that. a shift kit firms them out a little, to make the shifts feel more like when the car was stock.

i think he means puttint a shift kit in a bone stock or trans with nothing previously done to it. Not that it will be bone stock afterwards.

what spy2520 said. As for a shift kit and no programming, forget about it. DO NOT PUT THE KIT IN!!! You need programming to remove/lessen torque management, if you dont your car will fall on its face every time the trans shifts cause the computer will see it as an abuse mode and retard timing and fuel untill the speed of the car matches the throttle input(which takes several seconds after the shift)

Yes, I have.
I have an 02 WS6.
I have an '02 camaro SS.
I want to put the kit in, can't reprogram right now.
It'll work, but you'll hit TM while driving hard.
but would like to know what you did
Deleted all engine and trans TM, modified shift points, did not install the kit 100% as per the instructions.
and how the results turned out.
Perfect after making adjustments to the shift kit and tuning a few times.
