First thing to do is take off the o-ring on the input shaft and see if it goes, the o-ring can be hard, also the splines on the transmission can have worn or a twist on them
Call me if you want I can give you some tips

its still not going even with the o ring off....the previous owner said it was for a 4L60E but i just checked his profile and it says he has a TH400...is this verter even compatable with a Th400?

I'm not 100% sure about the 4L60E, but on the 4L60(700R4) on my 93 TA, the spline is different than say a TH350. So I'm betting its the same for the TH400. I'd say you got sold the wrong convertor.

Try counting the number of splines on both shafts and see if they are the same.

The converter in the photo is a turbo 400 converter not a 4l60-e style
It will not work or fit even come close to working
