tranny rebuild price?

tranny repair costs..... i got quoted 1290 bucks to rebuild my a4 tranny. Is this a good price? the guy also said he would beef it up and also put in "corvette torque converter" is there a difference from a stock 98 ls1 and corvette converter? he claims its a 2500 stall. ????

that price doesnt sound to far off for waht i paid when i had my auto in my lt1 rebuilt. its been a few years so i dont remember. but if thats the price for a full rebuild have it done.
