Talking tranny warranty

ok here is the deal. 1st i have a 99 z28 camaro and im wondering what is the stock tranny called 4L60E | 4L80E or whatever. also i have a warranty on my engine, tranny, and rearend till 100,000 miles. here is the deal

stock rear-end, stock tranny....should i leave the stockers alone and put gears and a stall or.....fry the tranny and a rear end and get a new one with my warranty. i know this is sleazy but why do we pay an extra 5k for a warranty..i have 80k miles now....is this way wrong or should i go for it...in my opinion i know its wrong but i dis pay 5k to ensure me to get another in case it ever broke.

good luck getting GM to honor any part of that warrenty, stock or not. GM warrenties are horrible, and almost useless.

its not a gm warranty its through the dealer...i bought the car used and i bought a warranty...im just worried with a rear end and tranny with 80k beefing it up i might either 1 void my warranty and 2 i the tranny go out after i have put the money in it.

even so, dealerships are just as bad.

honestly, I don't think your rear is in danger of breaking with your current mods and an automatic. Just don't put drag it often, especially not with radials.

I'd say saving up for a 12 bolt and a stall would be a better course of action than intentionally blowing your entire drivetrain and expecting a dealership to replace it all.

yea....i just feel like im wasting the money for the warranty. can u find 12bolts under 2grand? those little bastards are expensive. also if i get a converter for my current rearend/tranny combo and eventually get a 12 bolt can i use that same converter?
