Default Question /Help with 3200 Stall

I recently had a Yank 3200 convert installed about 2 months ago. Just last night i was driving and it felt as if the convertor didnt want to lock up. Is there any thing i can do to test to see if its still working. Iam not too familiar with Stalls Yet. So any suggestions would be helpful Thanks. My RPMs shot up when at WOT but i just didnt feel the jump that i usually feel.

It sounds like you don't understand what lock-up is. It occurs when you're cruising in 3rd or 4th and a clutch in the TC engages, taking the slippage out. Your rpms go down by several hundred - it is like a higher gear kicking in. The TC is unlocked when you go WOT. Maybe what you felt was something like going 4-3 instead of 4-2 at WOT because your speed was a little higher. Just guessing ...

When cruising on the highway in OD, if you slightly press the gass and the RPMs go up without the car responding, then your converter is unlocked. If you can feel the car slowly accelerate, they you are locked (RPMs will saty around 1500-2000). I have a Vig 3200, which should differ some from the yank, but it definatly doesn't hit you as hard when the car kicks down at WOT. It kind of feels like the car is slipping into gear instead of slaming into gear.

when in 4th gear slightly push on the throttle and touch the brake pedal, it will unlock the converter if you see a rpm movement on the tach. your converter clutch is working
