Default Dropped tranny pan. Is this normal? (pics)

Just like the title says. There is another thread around here of someone asking the same question, but I think I've got more clutch dust than him.

I've been having some shifting issues as of late and can't figure out what the problem is. I dropped the pan to check the 1-2 accum piston. It's fine. The fluid and pan also look fine. I haven't cut the filter open yet. I'll do that tomorrow. BTW, in the pics of the magnet, there is a lot of glare from the flash on my camera. In actuality, it's like sludge built up on the magent, and has a very, very fine (powdery) silver sparkle to it. Is that normal?

Sorry, the pictures suck, it's from my camera phone.

As far as I can tell it is just normal sludge buildup. This is caused from your clutches wearing out over time (normal). As long as there arent any rocky feeling parts or no chunky parts in the pan or on the magnet you are fine.

As stated above, it's normal. Don't know how many miles are on the transmission & I see you have a cooler. So, maybe she's just gettin' worn out. Was the trans. tuned when the stall was added, ie; shift time, pressure...etc.? Maybe a trans tune will help.

i personally think that looks BAD. Mine never looked like that unless the clutches were shot. You better be getting ready for a rebuild. Just my 2 cents.

I've only got 23,000 miles on the trans and I've been having 1-2 shift issues. I've posted before in other threads I've started. Just got my torquer II installed and the rest of my mods are in the sig. The trans went from shifting fine to not at all all within about 3 hours. Just tried dropping the pan to see if it was something stupid.

Actually talked to Dave at Rock-On already. I just didn't want to spend 2300 on a rebuild when all I may have needed was a $5 accum piston. I think I need a rebuild now.
