Default Which Converter

looking for ideas on a good converter for my current/future set-up, right now almost everything on car is stock, SLP lid, coolant bypass, and flowmaster muffler, stock 2.73 gears.............future mods are converter first....Hooker catback, Pacesetter LTs, most likely cam tsp 224, 114LSA, and possibly 3.42 or 3.73 gears.......car is a DD, with 78xxx miles......runs 13.6 with no traction, prob 13.4 with DRs, looking to step into the 12s with the car......converter is first step......thinking fuddle 3200-3400 2.5 str..........what do you guys think

Sounds like your close on the converter. You need to decide what gear ratio you will use first. Then click on Fuddle Racing to the right. That site has a (choosing a converter) section that will help you decide. Still undecided, contact Fuddle to get their opinion.

Fuddle is an excellent choice. Make sure you let them know what gears you decide on & the size of your cam. 3200-3400 2.0 or maybe 2.5 sounds good for street & track. Fuddle will evaluate your set-up & golas to come up with the best converter for you. Their customer service is excellent.

you guys think the stock rear would handle a converter like 3200-3400 with the other mods until i can do something about it

Why not? The power adders will do less to the rear end with 2.73's than it will with 3.73's. Does "do something about it" include a 12 bolt in the future? Get some adjustable coil overs & set the damper to full soft when drag racing. This will help reduce the slam on the rear end a bit.
