Default How many have broken a flexplate on a LS1 F-body?

I broke one a couple of years ago on a high rpm 1-2 shift...
This last weekend on a cruise, a person reved his engine in a tunnel and when he put it back in drive his car started making a sound similar to the one mine made when it broke. Sure enough, he did break it. So, how many?

Its only a problem on the 01 and 02 cars. Not sure why other than GM switched to a cheaper flex plate. Te best fix is a tci plate.

Cool, so my 2003 4L80E flexplate from a 2500 Series van should be able to hold some power?

because when I went to crank my car up a couple of days ago everything sounded fine..then a couple of days later I went to crank it up again and heard a sharp tapping sound..not like lifter tap and its not unevenly spaced out like a rod bearing...I THINK its my flexplate but just want to make sure...btw my car does not have 2nd, 3rd, or 4th right now lol...getting new trans put in tomorrow but I want to know if its going to be a waste of their time
