aight my friend just got his 2001 chevy blazer 4x4 back from the dealership and they said the sunshell needs to be replaced. (wont go out of second gear) does anyone know how much it will cost to get a new one or would it be better to get a rebuilt one. the guy at the dealership said it would be better to get another transmission any ideas ????

I would get a reman from the dealership will have a lot better warranty! Some of these dealers can't build crap so they will have less of a chance of screwing something up!

A sunshell, Beast, can be bought for $46.00. Getting it installed is another story. If the trans is shot, break out the credit card. 4WD transmission installs are always extra pricey. You can find rebuilt units from $700 up to $2500 depending on how it is built up.
