Default whats the difference

ok guys this may be a stupid question.....kinda get the jist..but not totally.whats the difference between a locked and unlocked converter....can you drive a locker converter on the street or is it just for dyno and track

locked converter is just that...the converter locks up solid and doesnt slip any.....feels like a manual transmission....it gives you better mileage. you use it on the dyno to get the highest hp numbers since the converter wont be slipping. You can lock it at the track to crutch a converter that slips too much up top.
