Default Hydra-Matic 6L80 in a 4th gen TA

Anyone here ever think of how sweet it would be to put one of the new Hydra-Matic 6L80 transmissions in a TA? automatic 6speed would be very nice.

i think so far there is no computer solution, i nother threads size and compatibility have been discussed and it seems the 6l80E will work, just need to wait for something that can interface it with the PCM or a standalone control unit i guess. i want to know about sticking one in my car, i dont know if my trans will let me wait that long though.

the Hydra-Matic 6L80 transmission is a new automatic trans featured in the C6 corvette and will be in a couple of the new cadilacs such as Escalade, STS-V, and XLR-V. if its in a vette im sure time somene could get it to work in a TA

The new 6-speed has a low 1st gear (4.06) which should be a killer gear leaving off the line. The 2nd (2.?)and 3rd (1.00) gear is not bad either. I was thinking about swapping to a 6-speed manual, but I am going to wait on this 6-speed auto. I read that the c6 vette has a final ratio of a 2.56.

Damn what an old post. For big HP vehicles look into the 6L90E. Speartech is one company working on swap kits for the 6 speed automatics. Check out their site.
