Did you swap from an M6? If so It wount work unless the Clutch switch at the top is all the way in. Mine is wired to the 2 step so it did not effect me.

Okay there is a harness that was connected to your shifter on the right side here is how the wiring goes..

orange/black and Black/white are for the hatch release and letting the PCM know the car is in drive/reverse. No place to hook this up on an aftermarket shifter.

purple/white and DARK green are for the neutral safety switch.

brown and LIGHT green are for the reverse lights

hope that helps...that should fix it

Apache, sorry for being verbage dumb, but your saying, I take the O/b and Blk/w and splice them together. I take the Pur on one side of the P/N WOT switch with D.Grn on the other side? and then Brwn on the R WOT Switch and and lt Grn on the other side of that switch? ****, seems confusing when written, I like crayola Good thing my headers are fucked, now I have time to mess with the wiring.

It seems confusing when adding the colors of the wiring into the puzzle. Bottom line is that you have 2 switchs on a aftermarket shifter. Neutral Safety and Reverse light switch, the trunk wires need to be connected in some way or the PCM doesnt recognize it, you do this through the Neutral Safety switch so your trunk can not open when the car is in gear.

There is actually a way you can wire it up for that you can bypass the neutral safety switch to but why would you? Hope that helps clears it up and makes sense out of what you are doing.
