Default What size stall should I put on my car

I have a 96 WS6 and was looking for some assistance in choosing a stall. If you could give some insight that would be great.

I went with a 2800 vig in my 96z28 with 3.42 gear swap. Its very streetable and you don't really notice the stall in daily driving.
Like a lot of people I think would have gone higher stall but bought it used so don't have the new free restall offer from vig and its still expensive to swap converters unless you do it yourself and don't pay labor.
I wish now that I had a 3000 to 3200 vig. 3200 would likely be ideal as the car is a heavy convertible.I also hear vig stall a bit higher than ratings. Of course ratings are also a bit arbitrary and depend on torque output of engine so figure once finish installing my zex wet ,CC305 and 1.6 pro mags and planned kooks and LE2 heads the 2800 vig will likely be stalling much higher.

I vote for 3000 to 3200 ,ls1 usually seem to work well with 3500 stalls.

I sent you a PM. I would be happy to help you pick a stall speed. With converter needs being so specific considering driving style, mods, and future plans, I like to err on the side of too much information about the car. Just get back to me, and I think we can pick the perfect stall speed for you.

Yank PT4000 is your only choice.

You want actual advice, do a little research yourself and post more specifics.

Just remember that LS1s do better at higher stall speeds than the LT1s do. It's all about where the powerband lies in the engine. IMO, I think a 3000 stall is perfect for an LT1.
