maybe it's because your a pansy and when you get about 40 mph you start to shake like a little girl. So you vibrate the pedal causing the car to stutter. But doesn't the vibration just make it feal better when your boyfriend is giving you roadhead??

Sounds like converter shudder. To verify if this is the problem, when the shudder starts, and without letting off the gas, lightly tap the brake pedal. Not really enough to apply the brakes, but enough to turn your break lights on. If the shudder stops for a few moments, its converter shudder. The ultimate fix for this is to replace the converter. But there is a additive that you can buy at your local transmission parts supplier that will help for a while. Hope this helps!
