Default 9 bolt stronger than 7.625?

I used to read about the 9 bolt on the third gen boards but forgot about everything. I remeber they were at least slightly stronger than the 7.5/7.625 and parts are hard to find.

The reason I ask is because the local junkyard is cleaning up everything and they have a box truck with at least 15 complete rears with posi and discs.
I know at least one has an aluminum center section.
But they are all f-body rears for sure, some are labled.
How do they compare to the 7.625?

No I mean 9 BOLT, it's a borg warner rear made for f-bodies, mainly third gens.
Has borg warner cast into the case, has nine bolts on the cover.

Is a 9" ford stronger than a 7.5, now thats a very dumb question.
And no I didn't read your post.

They are much stronger than the 10 bolts, and claimed to be strong as a Dana 44 which has a good reputation as well. The problem with running one is they are like 2" shorter on each side, so spacers or different wheels would be needed. Next, the gear/posi options are more than limited and much more costly than 10 bolt or even 12 bolt gears. I know the list price for a new GM posi for them is over $1200, although I have priced some for around $495. Gears are also around $400 as well, and the only option for gears are the 2.7x, 3.27, 3.45, and 3.70's. For more info on those rears, and there upgrades check out http://9bolt.com/.

Interesting site, that guy at the junkyard doesn't know what he has there. All those 9 bolts he has are set for the crusher, vehicles set there for several months before he rents a crusher. Maybe I'll grab a few of these.
Thanks for the link.
