Do high performance converters slip in the upper RPM range?
I have a vig 3500 5disc multi-disc converter in my vette with a trans-go shift kit set on the hardest setting & a stock 4l60e w/ 10k on it...
So here is my question do they slip in the upper rpm ????
When I went to the track the car would bounce off the limiter on the 2 to 3 shift... I was on et streets... I had the shift points set at 6700rpm's....
Any Ideas on whay the car did this...
It also has 3.42 gears and the car was set to shift at 82mph on the 2 to 3 shift...
So what my tuner did to try and correct the problem was..... with hp tuners he locked the converter at the top of 2nd gear @ 93.7% throttle also it stays locked thru the shift into 3rd all through 3rd thru the 3rd to 4th shift and all thru 4th... Hopefully this solves the problem...
Also do you guys have the proper Mph required for shift points at 6700rpm's with 3.42 gears??
What do you guys think???

All unlocked converters slip, some. And higher stall
speed ones, more than a stocker.
What I think you needed, was just to bring the shift
MPH down. The converter makes for higher RPM at the
same MPH and no longer meets the MPH shift criterion
by the time rev limiter RPM have been hit. If it's a
wop-wop-wop-shift deal then this is your trouble.
