Default How will the 4L60E endure?

I placing an LS1 / 4L60E in my 69 camaro. The mods will be a BBK manifold, Comp Extreme 265 cam, Springs and pushrods. Computer editing. I'm running a 373 rear gear. I'm hoping to get low 13's or high 12's.

I want to put a 3200 to 3500 converter in and a shift kit if neccesary. It will be for fun on the steet and maybe a dragstrip once or so to check it's performance. How will the 4L60E hold up?

If it's stock, it won't last TOO long...people break them with stock cars over time.

I have had them hold up behind about 550hp for some time with a converter. Just need a shift kit, servos and a good trans cooler. Also if you are not planning on vacume modulation you will need a good tuner who knows his way around the 60e. Tunning becomes essential to the life of the trans under any power greater then stock.

Using a "modified" Trans-Go Performance Shift kit, & Vacuum modulator should keep this unit together for awhile with the above modifications.

Thanks alot. I wasn't sure if I could install the shift kit also. I've read about the transgo kit and it sounds like the way to go.
