Default is this bad?

i have had my ss for 3 monts now(12k miles)and i love it.my question is somtimes when im at low speeds and slightly tap the gas and let off,i hear a noise coming from the rear that sounds like a slight clunk.its at low speeds when i here this and its starting to scare after listening to all the rear end problems.is it normal or should i have it check'd out....warranty is up on the 21st.had it there 2 weeks ago getting a full checkup before it ran out,and they say everything is fine, but it bothers me when i hear it...should i be worried.Hope i gave enough info...lol

Sounds like a bad U-joint to me. Take the shaft out and work the joints back and forth both ways and see if theres binding/tightness, or maybe even missing needles from one of the caps. If this isn't your problem, check the play in the rear end yoke while the shaft is out. If you can turn it back and forth quite a bit w/o the wheels moving, well, you're up ***** creek.......

How much play is bad? Mine turns like 1/4 of an inch clockwise and counterclockwise, like the pic below.

i have posted about this EXACT problem and no one has ever been able to help. I got this after I installed my new locker and new th400 with new drifeshaft with brand new U-joints and I cant figure out wtf it is. ring and pinion looked fine. I figured that if I the gas pedal whatever is hiding and slowly braking will completely brake and i can finally fix it. Am am really getting annoyed with it, so Ill be watching this thread with much anxiety.

this is what has happened to me, one guy posts that I should check the u-joints and then no one has any other suggestions past that. This can't be something no one has had and not figured out how to fix, come on guys!

Fastss2002- If you downshift manually does it sometimes make the same clunking noise?
