Converter lock up/dyno???
I had my car dyno'd yesturday after my header install and I put down 314 hp and 304 torque. He said I should be around 330hp if the converter would lock up. Is this true and how would I get the converter to lock up. It was a mustang dyno also.
My mods: Dacco 3200 stall, 3.73s, Voliant CIA, Edelbrock LT (victor series) y-pipe with a XR-1 Borla muffler, tuning: HPtuners

I had the same thing happen on my car.Your tuner can make the converter lock up manually in any gear. However some converters will not lock up unless your on the road.

Manual lock up switch. You have to splice into the wire off the back of the pcm that controls the lock up. One connection on the switch goes to the wire, the other goes to a ground. It will throw an SES code when you lock it up unless its programmed out of the pcm already.

He has HPTuners, no need to splice anything nor use Tech-II, HPTuners has VCM Controls that allow you to lock the TCC when ever you want. Also, so long as voltage is supplied to the lock up soleniod the TCC will apply, regardless of being on the road or not. Lock up may not happen if you have misfires or the trans (fluid) is too cold.
