Default P1870 what should I do? Please help

My car threw a p1870 code.

I had a professional installation a TCI ssf 3500, synthetic trans fluids and a trans cooler, July of 2005. In October of last year I got 2 dyno pulls and a tune. In the month of October 2005 and noticed my shift points to be alot smoother. I do not have a shift kit though.

I noticed a problem in November even though the car feels like it runs great BUT;

In Novemeber I discovered that my Transmission was overheating and almost reached 225 degrees according to my trans temp gauge within a week my car threw a P1870.

I have only driven the car 1 since November since I threw the Code in fear that I could damage the transmission. The trans temperatures have not reached that high, driving around town on the highway or stop light to stop light until I have driven more than half and hour. Maybe 180 to 190 tops. On average 30 minute drving it only reached 160 to 170 degrees on the highway. Twice with heavy driving though it reaches 210 or a little more. It never use to do that. I use to drive the car for more than 2 hours at a time and it never did that.

I have been keeping an eye on the trans fluid and it is perfectly filled.

I do not feel the trans slipping.

What can be the problem? Should I worry? Is it the tune?

Anyways the car has not been driven because it has been in storage in my garage.

What do you guys think. I greatly appreciate your feed back.

Thanks

Robert

I've read that you aren't supposed to use synthetic fluid for the trans. I forgot what the reason was. I'll see if I can find it.

Other than the oil issue what else can be the problem?

don't waste your time with the valve body fix or putting in a new valve body mixed results from that trick.

the problem probably lies in the valve body,the tcc isolator/regulator bore wears in these units.It probably only sets the code after a drive on the highway,not in town. hope this can be helpful.

have a pro trans shop install a transgo hd2 kit,it comes with a longer 1pc valve and new spring for the tcc bore,and provides an on/off tcc apply instead of the factory slide.Feel free to contact me for a kit if needed.
