Question car in park but roles?

ok i changed my shift cable. but car still roles in park 95/98 ta a4 what else can it be remeber i put whole car together from just a frame. someone said it may be the cable that goes on the top left on steering coloum.

Have you played with the cable adjustment right where it attaches to the trans. You can pull the plastic clip and adjust the length then put the clip back in.

take the cable off and manually put the trans lever all the way forward and see if it locks in park, if it doesn't,it's a transmission problem,if it does it's a cable problem, THANKS

ok it has a plastic peice that snaps up and down just today i pushed on it and it snaped down tomorrow ill try what yall say thankx fellas

Make sure when you put it on, or adjust it, that both the transmission and the shifter are in neutral. If it's a new cable, that's probably all it is.

Oh come on now I'm sure he did that.

On a side note though when I had the front propshaft out of my typhoon to do a burnout it would roll in park.
