11 sec 700r4?

I'm going to get my 700R4 this Friday. Its built to handle 650hp and over 500 ft lbs of torque. I'm hoping with all the right suspension mods and the right tires that I'll be in the single didgit club.

They wont last for long I have talked to many builders who say you just cant get a 700R4 to last with over 450 horsepower. I went through 2, Level 3 700R4s by BTO. I went with the 2004R from CPT (the real Art Carr) And I can tell you it has out lasted the both 700's combined.

I built one for my buddy in his 69 camaro with a 550 plus horse 388ci.make sure to get a pro builder who understands governer setup and correct throttle valve setup for your application.Get a good converter, remember,if the trans price sounds to good to be true,it probably is.

Im the one that did cwaldt trans. I build about the same transmission in a 94 z28 that went 11.0xs every week. All the best parst are in it with a full reverse manual valve body, billit servo, wide band, racing clutches, boost valve, upgraded pump, and a 9 inch converter.
For more of a race car I would choose a 350- or a 400. But for a daily driver and a little drag racing a 700 or 4l60e is the way to go.
