Default What tranny fluid

What tranny fluid are you guys using? I just got a call from my the guy rebuilding my stall, and he said I burned up the kevlar cluch and the bearings are very worn. I have a tranny cooler, and the thing never seemed to get hot.
It didn't seem to be sliping just was whining alot. Should I just run synthetic? Any suggestions guys?

I'd be curious to know this too, did a quick search already and didn't find much. I was going to use Amsoil in my tranny but Yank suggested not using synthetic. Next step was just to get the GM fluid from the dealer.

We here at FLT recommend using DexronIII atf only. We have been using it for years without any problems. Vince

Hmmm well thats what I run normaly, He said the stress of everyday driving with the converter going from unlocking and locking up, was likley the cause for the excessive wear. Guess I just need to drive easier on the street and not have the verter unlock and re-lock so much...

Right now I'm running Penzoil. I know of a few people who swear by the Valvoline high mileage stuff even for lower mileage cars.

I agree. Don't use synthetics...too slippery. Why even Redline Synthetics recommend against using theirs in a GM tranny. Everyone who is anyone, recommends staying with the GM fluids. That's what I'm running.
