Default 4l80e speed sensor help

I am converting from a manual speedo to an electric speedo and need some help. Where is the speed sensor located on a 4l80e. A link to pictures would be good or if someone wants to help point me in the right direction. Thanks.

I changed tail housing when I put this in to use a manual speedo and never really looked at it.

Here's a pic of my 383 and 4L80E:

And some detail:

The TISS (tranny input speed sensor) is right above the stock shift linkage. The TOSS (tranny output speed sensor) is to the left of the mechanical speedo extension pic, as is the gray, round main connector. You won't need the mech speedo adapter for the LSx car.

HTH,

Jim

The VSS is located in the tailshaft housing. On older TH350 (mech.)the speedo is on the drivers side, on the 4L60E its on the pass side (elec.), I would assume the VSS hookup for an elec. speedo is on the pass side like the 60E.

On your 4l80e there are two holes on the drivers side for input and output sensors. The hole directly above the shifter linkage is the input sensor or turbine sensor. The other sensor hole located in the rear part of the case would be your output sensor. Use this one for your speedo.
