Default MS3 or other big street cam and 3.90 gear, what size stall?

Guys have posted that with the MS3 you want to run 3500 or larger stall. I wanna run a 3.90 gear with a big street cam like the MS3, 235/240, or 233/239. I'm just not sure what stall I need with this type of gearing. I guess I just don't wanna over do it and not be able to hook at all.

4000 is good for the MS3 or 235.
Do you plan on spraying? If so, go lower.

Yeah, I won't be spraying. Will that 4000 on the street feel like like the transmission is slipping too much? This will be my first stalled transmission, so I'm not sure what to expect as far as the feel.

What about the 233/239 or 232/234 with 3.90's?

Those gears will work well. You should try and find someone areound you with a stalled auto. It's something you have to test for yourself and get the feel for it. Just keep in mind that the bigger the cam, the higher the powerband= higher stalled torque converter.

i just put the MS3 in and I have a yank ss 3800, it's doesn't "slip" unless you nail it. If you pull out normal it take right off, there's hardly any slipping at all. I love it, but I didn't get to drive it much until my stock tranny puked all over me. lol.

^^^^

I second that a TCI or Yank 4400 would be you best performers at the track. I wouldn't go any lower on a N/A setup if you want the most out of it. Most of the SI cars run a 4400 as did I
It may be a little too loose for you, but you will get used to it quickly.
