Default shift firmness vs. shift kit

hey guys whats the difference between the 2. i called a local performance shop and like most of them, they dont install shift kits. but they said that you can adjust the shift firmness or what not on a dyno tune!! but i still think getting a shift kit is better correct?

You can adjust the stock trans with a tune to give better shifts, as long as you don't make it too extreme so it can't handle it, but yes a shift kit is probably the more reliable way to go for the same effect.

The Trans-Go "modified" Shift kit can give you smooth 1-2 part throttle shifts, and with the shifts getting firmer with more throttle opening. This is better than the electronics can do by itself. The electronics can raise line pressure at part to medium throttle & not much more. The Shift kit can raise line pressure, give more volume of oil to the band/clutches at the right load. The Shift kit when installed correctly will give you more than the electronics ever could by itself.

The above is your answer to increased tranny life. Plus less internal slippage, better lock-up function, etc. A Transgo shift kit is all about improving your tranny, not just firmer shifts.
