I had used to have the Pure Evil (stage 2) and it worked just fine, but I also didn't beat on it too bad. I launched at about 3k on Nittos, making about 375hp at the time. I don't know how it will hold up to big power and some hard track time. I would say for the money and the power you are making, if you can live without overdrive, just go with a th350 or th400.

I looked into Dr. Evil trannys but I couldnt find much info on them... I called Yank to ask them what they thought... They recommended GearStar, I have been very happy with them obviously (if you read my other posts)

Ask what vehicles that have used this transmission, as to what ET's & mph, and how many passes? This should give you some indication as to what they will "really" hold up to. The reason I say this, is that there are a few companies that have made "claims" to have units (700R4/4L60E's) to hold 800HP, but where are the vehicles doing this, as this would be great "free" advertising. Dave at Rock-On and I have done extensive testing with what is out there now, (HD upgrades, etc.) and have agreed that 700-725HP is a "realistic" limit as to what will work with "some degree" of reliabilty. There are always exceptions to this, but were talking reliabilty here. I hope this helps.

I've had mine for 17k miles. High 11 second passes. It's a good transmission. I was thinking about selling it for $1100 if anyone is interested. I just bought a 408 and I think I might need something more stout like a 80e.

Well at the time I was going with a set-up of over 700rwhp, but that fell thru. I was going with the th400, with that set-up for added insurance.
I am still running the dril evil trans and close to 600rwhp, and still doing great!
