how to change valve body?4L60E
#2
Fairly simple, Remove the pan [13mm] Disconnect Epc, shift solonoids, etc. remove the three 10 mm bolts that hold the accumulator on.
Remove the 13 mm bolt that holds the spring against the rooster tail {manual linkage] remove all of the 10 mm bolts, remove the three 8 mm bolts [pay attention here, as these need to go back in the same holes or you will lock the gear train up] while you are lowering the VB dissconnect the wire that connects to the manual valve. Make sure you look at the seperator plate closely, as there are several wear areas here that may need repair. It is best if you have a checkball diagram on hand so you make sure you put the checkballs back in the proper locations. Most shift kits will have this included. There is also three 8 mm bolts that hold a small cover on the rear of the sep plate that need to be removed as well. Good luck, Jim
