A4 4.10 gear ratio guys help!
how many of you guys have a4's that have the 4.10s, i just had mine installed on a 40k tranny and it blew up 4 days later...curious if the 4.10s amplified my problem or just is too much gear for the automatic

after thinking...since my car wasnt calibrated really made the computer unsure at the RPMs to shift at, further calculations showed that my car was shifting at 7625 rpms rather than 6000 rpms, *going from 3.23s to 4.10s made a 22 percent error in the speedo and rpm gauges, 6000x1.22=7625 rpms*
should have gotten it calibrated right away
should have gotten it calibrated right away

No offense or anything..but i dont think your motor would spin 7625 RPMs...if it really did, i think you would have a bigger problem on your hands than just a blown tranny. Also, i'm not sure if this is true or not, but i have been told that 3.73's and 4.10's are actually easier on your tranny compared to 2.73's like i have..Because of how they increase your mechanical advantage, so its less stress on your tranny to get the car moving/accelerate. I'm not 100% sure on that though..does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Numerically higher gear ratios will take stress off the engine and drivetrain itself due to the tq. multiplication. I'm stuck on 3.73s or 4.10's myself. I had 4.10s in my 97 slobra but it was a 5 speed so I love the gear.
