Default Tranny cooler

Okay i have been thinking about bypassing the radiator.. Seems like with a aftermarket cooler that bypassing would be better, cooler and pick less crap up along the way? Am i thinking to much?

Run it inline, with the factory cooler first, to the aftermarket, and you'll have extra cooling. I haven't seen over 150* with my B&M 24,000 cooler, TCI Deep Pan, and TCI4000 stall.

This is hooking it up "Dope" style inline with the stock cooler.

I've got mine running bypassing the radiator. I'm seeing a high of 200* during the summer in stop and go rush hour traffic with a TCS4200, deep pan, and Hayden cooler.

wouldent it be better to put it after the stock cooler? it looks like the radiator would heat it up after it went through the cooler if you installed inline before.

for max cooling you will want it to go throught the radiator then to the cooler unless you buy a superhuge cooler with a fan, then you could bypass the stock cooler. In a stock system trans fluid runs hotter then the water in the radiator, think about it it has to be hotter then the water in the radiator, how else would the stock cooler cool off the trans fluid. In a sense the radiator will heat up the trans fluid(if your isnt moving/idling) but once you start moving you will be past the water temp and the radiator will then cool the trans fluid. So to get the best cooling with out having to but a Huge trans cooler with a fan, simply run the cooler after the stock cooler. I havent seen my trans go past 165. In the winter sometimes i see it struggle to get up to 125.

Mine goes from the tranny to the bottom of the radiator out the top to the cooler and the the return line goes back to the tranny. So yeh,the bottom of the radiator is the in and the top is the return.
