Default Blew my stall?????

OK, I think my TCI stall exploded but I don't have the money to just guess and buy parts. Has anyone ever had a stall go out on them? The car will run fine through 1st, shift hard into 2nd, and then start slipping while making a noise like you stuck your finger in a fan. Any ideas, or should I try to drive to AAMCO for a free diagnostic? I am not currently driving the car around, I drove it home 3 miles after it made a loud banging noise and started acting up. If I pull the stall will it rattle around if it's bad?

If the TC is blown then how is it still moving forward?

the plates in the stall will rattle, even if it's broken or not. you cant go on that.
why do you think your stall exploded? sounds like you maybe you have lost your 3-4 pack in your tranny

I don't know enough about transmissions to even make a guess. The tranny went out before but it didn't make any noises. The only thing I can think of that would make noise would be the stall.

I lost the 3-4 before and the tranny was rebuilt last year. It didn't make any noise when it went out before, it just started slipping. It also went kind of gradual. The car shifted great last week until the loud bang and now the noise.

I got pissed and drove it around the block today. When I manually shift 1-2, it burns rubber all the way to redline. When I put it in D,it slips baaaaaaaaaaaaad trying to go into 3rd gear. It will not go into 3rd or 4th at all. I am just wondering WTF that noise is. Last time the 3-4 packs went out, it was gradual. This time it went out in a boom. Looks like time for a new tranny. I just bought this one a year ago.....

Wouldn't you have to run some serious power to do that? Or a rebuilt that used broken parts.

Why would it run good in 1 and 2 but bog after that? It doesn't make sense for it to be the TC. Has to be a trans problem.

I would take the transmisson back to who ever rebuilt it last year and figure out why this happned. A good rebuild should last more than a year even if your putting more than stock HP. I would assume that they'd stand behind their work (hopefully). If I also had to venture a guess I would say clutch packs, it seems highly unlikely that your stall gave out.

I bought the tranny used with a rebuild from a shop about 90 miles from here. Not sure if I want to drive that far to have it done or just do it local. I may get it rebuilt free, but I'd have to either find somewhere to stay a couple of days or drive back and forth. Not sure I want the hassle.
