tranny mount vibrating
hey guys i had a prothane tranny mount installed yesterday and the car feels wierd to me. i drove it about 150 miles today and i know they will give more vibration because they are stiffer but i just dont feel right. i had a tranny shop do it and i watched them to make shure they did it right so i dont know whats up. my exaust seems to resonate more and even sound louder in the car [maybe just in my head?]
is there any adjusting that needs to be done when you swap the mount?
it seems to be ok when it shifts and it dont bang or any thing but i a little scared to get on it lol and the center console sound like it wants to blow up lol
any ideas?
thanks a lot guys.
p.s. i have heard that to much vibration can cause knock retard is this true?

Are you sure its installed correctly and at the right angle?
I really noticed no big difference with mine until I got over 60mph. Just driving around town you really have to pay attention to even notice, but then again i've been driving around with dumped TSP duals too. I also have prothane motor mounts and a good converter so it may feel different than yours. Mine is rather smooth, for what it is.

well i left it up to the guy that put it in so im not shure about the angle but the mount looked the same all around so i dident know that it was directional.

The mount will couple more of the driveline vibe to
the crossmember. But you may (or not) also have
more vibration if the mount is a different installed
height than stock, changing the driveline angle by a
degree or two. Some mounts need bumps grouns down,
a plate left off, etc. You could experiment with that,
shimming or unshimming stuff and see if any change
is better/worse. If you have an adjustable TA then
that might be worth re-adjusting, up/down a hair, to
see that way instead of lifting the trans.
