Default th350 trans temp guages

A lot of tranny temp guages I see (I'm only speaking of electric ones, not mechanical) say they come with a sending unit, a fitting, etc. I assume that you have to unhook a line from a fitting that the cooler is returning fluid to, and tap into it there. Which of the two fittings is the "in" one? Or, is there an easier way to check the temp level? Thanks

I will be putting the sender in the pan. Drill and tap a hole and mount there.

That's a good idea, never though about that. Sure hate to drill into that nice chrome pan I bought though

Which trans temp kit do you guys use? I was thinking about grabbing the auto meter Z series guage from Jeg's or something

I used an Auto Meter 2 5/8 Pro Comp electric trans temp guage.
I got mine from Jegs.
Mounting the guage itself can be tricky, I used a simple 2 5/8 plate that auto meter sells and I mounted it in the cassette holder thingy.

Autometer makes several nice trans. temp guages, just pick one you like. I went with the C2 full sweep guage and got it brand new off ebay for $89. You can just have a bung welded in to your pan for the sensor.
