Default Shift Kit VS Computer Tune

I was just wondering if a Shift Kit and a Comp Tune would be the same exact thing? What if you had both of them?

Default Shift kit Computer tune

I have the HPP III and it asks you if you have a shift kit installed before you increase shift firmness!

I suppose that's because they don't want you to over do things and increase the pressure by to much!

Physically fixing problems inside the transmission is better then just adjusting line pressure via the computer

A shift kit is probably better, but if you know what you are doing as far as tuning (i.e. not using the hypercrap) you can get really firm shifts with minimal risk to the trans.

Each does things that the other can't. I have both and feel that each has been essential to getting my tranny to perform the way I want it to.
