Default HELP on stall speed. have a PT4400 but....

just got done with my 98 TA, it has 90mm fast, ls6 heads , magic stick cam(237/242 .603/.609") and 2300-6800 RPM Power Band with a peak around 6400rpm. the car has a stock 3.23.

Now my problem is i think my PT4400 is to high of a stall for a daliy driver. it feels like the trans is slipping or something, but my friends tell me i'm not use to it. what do u guys think if i went for something in the 2500-3000 stall speed range. or the TCI 4L60E Super Street Fighter Torque Converter, 3000 Stall Speed, 2.2:1 STR ???

with that camshaft ull need a bigger stall.. at least a 3600.. which is considered a daily driver for most people.

check out fuddle racing, they have a 3600 verter, 2.2 str with good quality and prices.

keep the Yank...I have a Yank PT4000 in my car...382 stroker, .611/.619 242 250 cam, bit heads/exhaust/intake etc. It drives nicely I didn't go with the PT4400 because I am running nitrous. I have 3.42 gears.

upgrade to 3.73 gears, downgrade to a Yank SS4000 converter (I'm sure you can find someone to trade you) and get a shift kit. That should make a world of difference. But putting the stall aside for a moment, you went with a HUGE cam. If streetable was your goal then you should of gotten an TSP torquer 2 or F13. There is just only so streetable your car will be with that cam (especially behind an A4). As long as that cam is in your car I would not go less then a 4000 stall.

I'm assuming you got the car tuned after the heads/cam. If not then you also need a good dyno tune. Good luck.

The gear change will make a diff in the loose feeling of the stall.Just keep drivin it around, you will get use to it.
