Default What STR with the TREX cam

Ok, I've decided my setup would benefit more from a 4400 stalled converter. I am sending mine back into Fuddle for the restall. I currently have a 2.2 STR, should I keep that or change it or what? My mods with this will be all the bolt ons (minus 90/90), a TRex cam and 3.73s. A set of heads will be in the future as well but I'm unsure at this point which I will use.

The converter was never installed so I don't know how it felt. Anybody else with the TRex what STR are you running?

no.... you'll want it loose for the t-rex... a tight converter will make the car surge more (with a very large cam such as the T-rex) and jerk harder when you put it in gear and possibly stall out more frequently. thunder racing recomends a stall of ATLEAST 4,000 rpm.

It will see the track but its a DD as well. I'm going to stick with the 2.2.

I run a 4400 with a 2.9 STR

If he restalls it, it may be hard to keep the ratio lower, depending on who made your converter.

Omega, what cam, gears, and rear tires are you running with that stall? How is it on the street? How does the car hook?

I'm running a big cam, currently 3.23's but will be moving up to 4.11's, maybe bigger but who knows. Rear tires are 27" tall (for 4.11 gear setup) It's good on the street, but my tranny is bad now, so didnt get much fun time with the converter. I'll be selling the converter soon if anyone's interested. It's a badass verter but the trans had problems before.

How much for the restall? Can you just send your aftermarket converter to a different name brand/company to have it restalled?
