now my POS is locking around 45mph as usual
then after driving for awhile, maybe less than 10 mins,
it unlocks and i get mush for a few minutes, maybe around 5mins
then it locks for 5mins,
unlocks for 5..
whats going on?
going to san diego and back cost me $40!
ive heard i can stick two wires in this thing around the dash area
and when i put them together, the verter will lock
is it true? is it safe?

I bet you anything you got some trash in your solenoids. Pull the pan and either replace them(cheap dont worry) or may want to get a shop to flush your tranny......but be advised this has been known to kill a tranny after all the old built up clutch material is removed. Mine did it for a while, same thing

my car did the same exact thing after the cam swap.chased it for about a month before realizing it was a miss fire in the cruising rpm range.when the car miss fires it sends a signal to unlock the converter and after a few min it will lock up again until the next miss fire.hope this helps
