Take the handle off so you can get a better look at it, might not be able to repair it, but at least you can shift the car. Pry the staple on the front of the handle out with a small screwdriver, pull up on the handle and it'll slide off. I bought a leather Firebird T-handle for my car a few years ago - was about $60.

I'll give it a shot, but i tried prying at that damn clip lastnight and it was a PITA, I couldn't get it out. I'm guessing I have to use a really small screwdriver

Yeah, really small one - once it's started you can get a grip on it with a pair of needle nose plyers to pull it out.

Also I"m checking out Kragen and what not but I can't seem to find a place that sells a AT shift handle, any ideas. I'd like something black so it dosen't stand out, know of anything.

Well the one I bought PN 12563172 GM now lists for $139! Sure you could get it cheaper from one of the sponsors.

I wasn't taking off the ****, the black button that you press to shift from P to R, D, etc simply popped out for no reason! I'm totally confused! Oh well! Junkyard it is!
