Default 4L70E - Is it upgradeable?

I have a 2006 Trailblazer SS which I am putting a new 3600 stall converter into. Now the problem is that many other people with stock Trailblazer SS's have been blowing these 4L70E tranny's at anywhere from 1k-10k miles. This tranny is suppose to have the upgraded reaction shell and hardened shafts already, is there anything I can upgrade as a preventative measure while I am getting the converter and tranny cooler installed? ....fyi guy at PATC told me "No". Other transmission guys please chime in, as I would like to spend a little now to prevent spending a lot later (obviously TC voids any warranty I had).
