Default Rebuild or not to??

Just had the engine fully rebuilt... should put down around 420-430 +/- (LT1 355) got a brand new rearend 3.73 auburns, series 2 auburn posi carrier

my mechanic dropped the pan on the tranny today... (didnt look likei t was rebuilto n the outside as the previous owner stated.. big surprise he said it had a 306 in it and that was a 355.. it wasnt either of the 2.. now around $2500 later (ebay gave me $1700) anyways the pan had a **** load of metal in it so much that it over powered that filter thing.. my guy charges $250 or so to remove and reinstall the tranny and i know the stock tranny would only last a month or 2 with the power in front of it but its what a 98k mile car already so im looking for a new tranny or rebuilt to handle the constant 400 hp and it will be sprayed someday (150-200 shot) street car DD<<<< I know im looking at over $1,000 so hit me with the best i can get for that and a few hundred over?

got a trans go shift kit, a tranny cooler and a 2800 Vigilante converter on it atm

If you are gonna rebuild it, go with Rock-On especially since you are in Texas.

Not if he wants to keep his overdrive. If he really wants to go overkill, he can just go for a built 4L80E.
