Default PICS.....broken tranny parts

Some of you asked for pics, here's what broke.

It got all bowed out and it was rubbing the inner walls of the tranny housing.

These two pieces were free spinning.

The bearings on the inside flipped over and were sticking out. The one on the right is the new one.

The piece on the left had a deep groove cut into it from those bearings.

The sprag rolled over causing the sunshell to go to a very high rpm, and caused the damage you see. You will need a new inner & outer race to go with the new sprag assembly. Your old is no good. If you can find a good used one, make sure that the inner race is in near perfect condition, and as smooth and flat as possible (a polished surface with 600 or finer grit). The outer race must be sanded with 40-60 grit, to limit the sprag from sliding. You are relying on mechanical interference to do the job of holding, so "do not" make the inner race rough.

The entire tranny, internally, was replaced with all new stuff, evwen those gears in the pics were replaced with new. Working perfectly again.
