Default composite x shifter

will a B&M composite x shifter work on a 4L60E tranny? are the 700r4 and 4L60E trannys almost the same? the composite X shifter is for TH400 350 700r4 etc. but not the 4L60e and I was just wondering if it would work

it would be able to select the gears since the 4l60e is a 4spd auto, just like the 700r4. ti would not change the way the car shifts since the 4l60e is controlled completely electronically.

Which Composite X shifter are you specifically inquiring about? They all have optional models that can be used on 4spd GM transmissions. Although they will not directly bolt in. They are universal models for custom installations.

I am not that familiar with the composite X shifters but I think they make one like the Pro Stick but with a pistol grip, and if they do and you can change the gate plates on them then they will work with a 4 speed auto.
If its setup for a TH400 then it won't work with a 4 speed tranny unless it has the capability to swap gate plates.
I run a B&M Pro Stick and you can swap the gate plates out to control a 4 speed auto or a forward TH350/TH400 or what I have in mine which is a Reverse Manual TH400.

You can make a 3 speed gate plate work with a 4 speed auto but 1st gear will be non selectable, I ran my old 60E with my Pro Stick and a TH350 forward gate plate for awhile before I installed the TH400.

I've seen some pics of this done and it looks great. If anyone knows of one made specifically for the 4L60e post it up!

I don't have any pics of the composite shifter, just my Pro Stick but it looks like any other Pro Stick mounted to the floor without a console. I just used the aluminum cover.
