Default Car sits still

I'll put my car into D or R. The car will sit there but move into gear. I'll press on the gas and when I get to 1500 RPM the car starts to move. It feels like something is holding it back but I just changed the brakes and the car still does it. The thing is it only does it sometimes. It first did it after I did a burnout a few weeks back. It drove normal by the time I got home. It then did it a week ago and then fixed itself a few hours later. I took the car to a tranny shop and they just told me my 3rd/4th gear clutches and bands are bad. I'm just not sure how that would keep the car from moving at idle. Could this problem be the rear end by any chance?

Default

well the 3rd 4th and band would not affect 1st gear you have the low reverse and forward clutches applying in 1st not band and 3-4 now your low reverse or forward clutch or sprag could be failing
