Default Will a 4l60E bolt into a Old Small Block Chevy???

I need to know if a 4L60E will bolt to a Gen 1 Engine?
I have 2 trans to work with a 94 out of a LT1 and a 99 out of a LS1 car

Also who make a stand alone controller for the 4L06E in a non Computer car????

Thanks

A non LS1 transmission will bolt right up. TCI and some others make a controller.

kinda thought the LT1 Bolt patern was the same as the Gen1's.

Also the trans is a 94 that will still need the controller right? I was reading some lastnight and i think one site said only the 87 and up and electronically controlled.

I personally thought they all were.

A 93 is not electronic, 94 is, but 94 I believe is unique with the plug, then 95 has another. So 94 yes you need yes you need a controller. 87 and up maybe be the lockup for the converter, but not fully electronic.

I belive in 87 was when GM went to the 700r4 which needs a power source to power the TCC solenoid. I just sold a 94 Z28 trans (LT1 eng) and it had the same plug as my 95 silverado did.

700's had a small square plug for the tcc lockup starting when they came out in 1982.
In 1994 the 4L60E came out and have the big round plug for the lockup and the other controls.

yeah the ls1 style 4l60's only the top 4 bolts bolt up.and the lt1's will bolt right up.and you will have to get a computer to run the 4l60e no way around that
