Was reading this and also saw someone say that any 9.5" gm converter would work. I'm not an expert but that doesn't seem like reliable information. I know it's a new tranny but just wanted to know if anyone knew conclusively.
I'm hoping a Yank 3200 or 3600 will wake my vette up a little.

Amazing huh?? LOL.
I just want to give the car more grunt down low. My old truck was all low end and this car doesn't start moving until 3500, so I'm trying to make it a little more fun.

they let the power that the engine is already producing to be used in a more efficent manner, but they dont add power... heck, most stalls actually absorb more power (in the form of heat) then stock stalls do... its just that it helps put down alot more with the engine in the right RPM range that you go faster.

You obviously missed my sarcasm.
I'm a newB to the site, but I'm not a newb to cars. I know how converters work. I was laughing at the quote of 40-50 hp because I know it's bullshit.

The a-6 converter is a total unique item as it has a different spline count and hub size also the overall lenght is not the same
It will not fit!!!!!!
The A-4 and A-6 do not use the same converter!
You can pick up top end horsepower with a converter that is more eff. and better matched that the factory generic one, any eff. improvement will add HP to the wheels but do not expect more than 1 to 3% over stock
It will not fit!!!!!!

I will definately be going with you guys. Since there is no tuning for the A6 tranny yet, how have people been making out with the converters?
Are they locking up properly without a tune? How many guys seem okay without a tune?
I'd love to do it soon, I'm just trying to be cautious and not have to install it and wait for tuning or pull it out until tuning is available.

Red = Aftermarket converter, cutout, all free mods, blue = stock converter, lid, some free mods. Added ~44hp at the 80mph point on the graph Under the curve gain > peak hp.
Sorta on Topic, I've had my converter in for over a year now untuned and it locks up and shifts/does everything fine. I know it's not a C6, but considering it's size, the PCM does great with it.
