Default gettin a 3400 stall

ok so Im gonna take the plunge and get a 3400 stall thinking like a 2.1 STR, so my next question is how much is tuning gonna run me, I will be doing the install myself....will I be able to drive the car after the install w/o a tune? all I have done at the moment is lt's, catback, ory, lid, shift kit, and a tranny cooler....also has anyone heard of these guys? http://www.edgeracingconverters.com/ they look pretty good, im thinking about getting a stall from them....

personally I would recommend fuddle. When I bought my converter I was about two weeks late to get it their sale price but john still sold it to me the sale price. Yes I would recommend getting a tune after the install. Yes you can drive it after the install just dont go WOT throught the shifts as the car will bounce of the rev limiter. Hope that answers your questions.

My first stall was a TCI SSF3500 and the dealership installed it (car was in for a cracked flywheel). The car required no tuning for the stall.

so your car shifted fine even at WOT? How much does a tune like that cost?

I wouldn't go with anything less then a 3600 stall with something around the 2.5 STR area. You'll get something smaller and then regret it. I bought a SS3600 and I wish I would have gotten the SS4000.

I'll sell you my fuddle 3400 2.1 STR, the welds are sloppy and I'm waiting to hear from Fuddle regarding that issue. See my other thread for details....

If your converter needs to be tuned most shops with either LS1Edit or HP Tuners charge anywhere from $75 to $150 to tune for the tranny and converter only.

Do a simple search for Fuddle, you'll find post after post about their terrible business tactics, you'll see that they never return phone calls, pm's, or e-mails.......... and that people are left out in the dark on a regular basis not knowing what is going on with their orders............ now welding problems are being noticed when people finally do get their converters.

Go with a company that has actually earned the respect of its customers and treats them like they should............. don't get suckered into a nightmare by a one man company.
