Eastside..... hughes dealer... several 9 second cars all running hughes converters... they can tell you.
I'd guess about a 4000 though, anything much loser then that and you're gonna be looking at putting the bumper on the ground... on a regular basis. With a 300 out of the hole single stage, you probably will have a fair chance of that anyway if you're not careful.

I'm running a fuddle and John told me to go with their 4000 converter and i'm looking at similar power with my 434 with a 200 shot and c5r heads. Still haven't implemented this yet but John indicated it should flash to about 5000 with 900 hp, th400, my 4.56 gears, and 3300 raceweight. Good luck!

With a 28.5" tire you won't have enough gear for 9's. We had to swap to 3.73 gears to be able to hold the mph. You should be able to run quicker than mid 9's with that much power. My firend only had a 3800 stall and made it into the 9's with a lot less power at 5000+ da.

if you gonna spray it especially with that much it needs to be tight or it will just drive right through the converter
i would say a good 10" converter around 3500 max
remember if you spray it its gonna flash alot higher cuz all that torque is gonna spin the converter up so quick it wont be able to grab the fluid as easy as on motor

id be worried more about the tranny holding up and shifting into high gear. contact the converter folks and describe your setup and they will be able to get you in the ballpark, IMO.
converter selection is very important.
if you dont have some good parts in the th350, it aint gonna like all that power.
408+300 shot, id have to guess its gonna have about 800hp+ to deal with.
depending on the cam, and the useage of the car, id put a 10" unit with a 9" stator so its got a good stall speed and still locks up well.
good luck.
sounds like its gonna be a fun ride.

why you worried about the stall... all your going to do is lose control and put it in a ditch like you have before... best mod for you.. take out the motor so it won't move until you learn how to drive...lol
