Thumbs down TCI SFI Flywheel

Has any body used this on their auto tranny? I bought one and I'm having clearence issues with it. The bushing that goes between the fly wheel and torque conv. needs to be machined. The bushing does not have enough depth for the converter hub. It won't allow the trans to pull up flush to the motor. The other issue is the distance between the converter mounting lugs and the fly wheel itself. The distance looks to be to great even with the bushing removed and the trans flush with the engine. Any ideas? I don't think shims will help.

I called TCI as soon as I recieved my flywheel to ask about this collar(bushing)they had sent along in the box. They told me that this was not for our application. So leave it out of the equation and you will be fine. Traver

The pilot in the TC should pull into the flexplate with out that additional bushing. How much clearance do yo have between the TC lugs and flexplate? There is supposed to be some clearance there, I think minimum is 1/8" and Max is 3/16". you'll have to double check those measurements though, they were what I used for my TH400 install.

Thanks for the help. I just went back with the stock one for now.I called TCI and they said I needed to use the spacer(bushing). Tired of messing with the tranny for now. Getting close to having my new 383 fired up.
