Default 2000 Monte Carlo 4T60E, hard shifting

My wifes Monte Carlo, goes into hard shft mode when it warms up. I've checked for codes, running and not--no codes. I've run it up to 60 and touched the brake to unlock the converter, does not. All the symptoms of tcc slippage without the codes. Car has 105000 miles, has had three fluid and filter changes. Never driven hard. any further suggestions before I take it to a shop$$$$. Maybe a h/d external cooler or--I'm open. Thanks

sounds like you need to get ready to buy a valve body to me. sounds like the tcc apply valve has a problem with it.

Those transmissions have multiple vb issues. You should have a pressure test done on the transmission as well. Sounds like the line prssure might be a little high. I will say with the amount of miles that you have on that trans you have done very well. Sounds like it is time for a rebuilt. Good luck, Vince.

sounds like it "should" have a p1870 stored somewhere and you just haven't been able to access it. The code will not generally be in the engine code areas and unless you have a really good code checker you won't find it because it will be buried in tranny info. A tech2 would show you and hopefully that's what you're checking it with or another very good scan tool. Hope it's not toasted......
